Gift of Life Sock Set
Gift of Life Sock Set
In January I had the honor of donating my peripheral blood stem cells to a random match donee suffering from acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The matching and donation processes were coordinated by Gift of Life - I worked with them for almost a year between finding out I was a match and completing the donation, and I’m looking forward to working with them more as I get updates on how my donee is doing!
Gift of Life is a nonprofit organization dedicated to curing blood cancers. Their marrow donor registry is associated with the National Marrow Donor Program and Be the Match and is a member of the global registry, Bone Marrow Donors Worldwide.
Joining the marrow registry only involves a cheek swab! Of course, being a match and going through the donation process is not as simple and involves a lot more pokes with needles, but that’s nothing compared with the hope you could give an individual suffering from blood cancer who needs transplantation.
For my donation, Gift of Life flew me out to Florida to have the procedure done at their headquarters in Boca Raton. Everything I had to do for the donation was facilitated and paid for by Gift of Life, and I am so grateful for the time and resources they put into coordinating the process, and I want to give back to their organization.
Proceeds from this special Gift of Life sock set will be donated to Gift of Life, and I strongly encourage anyone who is able to order a swab kit from them and join the registry! Find our more information and order your own swab kit at https://www.giftoflife.org/

Photos of yarn are carefully corrected for color accuracy, but please keep in mind that different screens can display colors differently. Due to the nature of small batch, hand-dyed yarns, individual skeins may also vary slightly.
For best care, please hand wash all yarns in cool water with a mild detergent or wool wash and air dry. Yarns are carefully dyed to fully set color and rinsed before shipping, but some color bleeding is still normal with the first wash.
Please note that orders shipped outside of the United States may incur additional duties or taxes upon delivery. These charges are the responsibility of the customer.
